Relationships

by Christopher Gergen and Gregg Vanourek

Our relationships – the interpersonal connections we may have with a spouse, partner, family, friends, mentors, colleagues and others – deeply pervade our core identity. Our identity is a pale shadow without the people in our lives. According to the Zulu saying, umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu: ‘A person is a person because of other people.’

It is through the people in our lives that we find opportunities to serve, learn, grow, share wisdom, find solidarity, and celebrate what we can accomplish together (Gergen & Vanourek, 2008, p. 45).

Coaching Call to Action

This week take the time to honor the relationships that are important to you. This can be done in so many ways: a letter of acknowledgement, a special phone call, a prayer, and/or lending a hand. This week take time each day for the people in your life who have helped make you who you are.

Rediscover Your Purpose and Passion

In this two night workshop, Positive Leadership Dynamics, in collaboration with One Journey Consulting, will help participants explore their passions and articulate their purpose. Over the course of two consecutive evening sessions in July, participants will have the opportunity to explore their opportunities, seek solutions, and create a new pathway of action for a more meaningful daily life. I will be attending this event as a participant. Would you like to join me? For more information or to register.
