| Focusing your vision, achieving results |

-- Thomas Paine
Love them anyway. If you do
good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior
motives. If
you are successful,
you will win false friends and true
enemies. The good you do today will be
forgotten tomorrow. Honesty and frankness make
you vulnerable. The biggest men and women
with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the
smallest men and women with the smallest
minds. People favor underdogs but
follow only top dogs. What you spend
years building may be destroyed
overnight. People really need help but may
attack you if you do help them. Give the world the best
you have and you'll get kicked in the
teeth. Reference: Keith, K.M. (2001). Anyway. New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons. Reprinted with permission from OSU Leadership Center, Ohio State University, Columbus, OH 43210, 614-292-3114, http://leadershipcenter.osu.edu.
Many of my coaching clients ask for help with building their self confidence reducing their procrastination. I believe many times we are stopped from action because we are fearful of the results and impact, afraid of playing big and taking risks. This week choose one area that you have been holding back on for whatever reason and take action anyway. Let me know what happens.
1. List of all your business accomplishments since the first of the year. Include what you have completed or begun, new opportunities, contacts and connections. 2. Review this list and determine if you can find any patterns, or areas that cause more energy and excitement for you. Those impressions and feelings may be indicators of personal talents and abilities -- and where you should focus future effort. 3. Review your plan for the year. What still fits with your overall business focus and interest, and what should be updated, tweaked, or even slashed right off that list? 4. Re-prioritize this list based on what you learned in steps 1-3.
