With today's tumultuous workplace, what will it take to survive, accomplish, deliver results, succeed, move ahead, lead others and find satisfaction?

The days of working on the same team or with the same boss for three, four or five years are gone. With that went the opportunity to get to know each other, and develop a steady work plan towards corporate, professional and personal goals. In today's constantly changing work environment, the team members, bosses and team purpose change often, so your toolkit must include an insurance policy against being let go.

Every workplace has its own goals, culture and politics, yet there are a few key areas to evaluate that are similar in just about every corporate environment:

1. How well do you get along with your boss? Are your styles similar, and do you respect each other?

2. How well do you get along with your peers? Is there collaboration or conflict?

3. How well do you know your company's objectives -- and how do you (or do you??) contribute to those objectives?

4. Are your contributions visible to the right people?

5. Do you know what you do well, and what you avoid?
