Welcome! I’m Andrea Novakowski (aka Coach Andrea).

my approach

Blend of emotion and intellect

I am energized by forging authentic relationships. I listen deeply. With a caring, diplomatic, warm, and respectful approach, I help my clients think strategically and practically to discover their focus and direction. While I ask questions that are both practical and tough, I do so with empathy. I am grounded in a quiet strength, bringing calm in the midst of chaos.

My style is professional, yet tempered with a softer side. I tend to use words that touch people’s emotions and feelings. I am open and inviting, trustworthy, and curious as I challenge my clients to grow and develop. Most of my clients continue working with me beyond our initial contract, because they value the support they gain through ongoing coaching.

my background

I am a pioneer in coaching

I became intrigued with the profession as it offered a career where I could meld my desire for making deep and authentic connections while also staying in the business world. I launched my company in 1997 and have coached hundreds of clients. My actual coaching time exceeds 10,000 hours.

Prior to coaching, I traveled many paths in the business world that led me to this place. My diverse blend of knowledge, coaching expertise and hands-on experience helps me to coach effectively. Because I understand my clients’ business challenges, I offer insights and guidance that positively impact the changes they are striving to achieve.

See Coach Andrea in action

Successful small business ownership – I co-owned and grew a successful business for nine years. I have lead through all levels of a business, from startup to sales and everything in between -- through times of success and growth to times of downsizing, including the addition of and closing of departments. I know and understand the stresses that a business owner faces.

After selling my business to a large organization, I transitioned to a leadership role inside the organization, interfacing with all departments. I experienced first-hand the complexity of large organizations and learned the importance of developing strong strategic abilities. The keys to success include appreciating the importance of building relationships (political savvy), influencing with and without authority and capably dealing with the impact of reorganizations.

Education - I earned my BA in psychology from Simmons University and an MBA (concentration in finance) from Babson College.

Community Involvement: I believe in the importance and value of giving. Building relationships between and among people is one of my core values. Over the years, I have put these beliefs into practice through my non-profit work at Babson College’s Center for Women’s Leadership and Babson College’s Graduate Programs, the International Coaching Federation of New England where I am a Past President and Board Member and at the Massachusetts Conference for Women.

My coaching clients span a diverse set of industries, including education, financial services, health care, insurance, manufacturing, pharmaceutical,
professional services and technology.

Who I work with:

I guide CEOs, industry leaders, and business owners from strategic vision to measurable action plans AND THEN TO RESULTS. To our partnership, my clients bring their unique knowledge and strengths, while I provide tools, wisdom and direction. As we work together, my clients gain awareness and discover fresh insights.

The coaching experience re-invigorates clients as they blend career development and personal growth, reaching higher productivity and deeper levels of job and personal satisfaction.

I also work with high-potential employees who want to optimize their careers. Together, we focus on what’s most important to their success, to enable them to get the results they want. My experience enables me to ask the right questions, quickly identify issues, and help clients create meaningful goals. Next, we uncover challenges that interfere with the ability to accomplish those goals. Then we move to devise the solution – workable systems that enable my clients to achieve their goals.

Too often, people begin solving a problem before accurately defining it.

I help my clients:

the complex issues that they are facing

what matters most in their business and personal life

tools and processes that enable them to achieve desired results

Partner, Mintz Levin

I have been turning to Andrea for coaching for about 10 months now. At all times, I have been confident that she is committed to my success – both professional and personal.

At every step, Andrea takes the time to learn who I am and what motivates me. As a result, she has been able to help me integrate new perspectives into my goals, action steps and way of thinking through the changes I want to accomplish. She’s just terrific.

Andrea has a unique approach to coaching that helps to see the unspoken messages that may be serving as obstacles to success.

Andrea has an exquisite coaching style, inquisitive line of questioning, and the ability to think outside the box. Because she held the mirror up for me to see exactly what was going on, I have exceeded all my goals under her watch.

Andrea stepped in and helped me take control of my business when everything felt out of control. At eight months I felt established and able to objectively focus on the areas that created the most stress in my life.

Now Andrea calls “just to check in,” which only strengthens our working relationship. I know that whatever hurdle comes up, I am a call away from getting the support and direction I need.
